As a proponent of mental models like second order thinking, I definitely do not advice making decisions without taking consequences into account. This is very important for irreversible decisions in our life.
Yes, we don't control our future and there are things we may not account for, but it shouldn't be an excuse to not consider the likely possibilities that are clearly in front of us.
Simply by doing this mental exercise we can make the right call to let go a decision that has first order positive consequence with multiple negatives in the future.
Choose a decision which has positivity compounded in the future. And yes, it may be wrong, but it will be better than not even considering it.
