Confirmation bias is how our brain uses information it has learned in the past and applies mental shortcuts to make sense of the world.

Most interesting thing I have learned about confirmation bias is that unless we know it exists and catch ourselves in it, we truly cannot accept other viewpoints with openness and derive value out of them.
