I don't think it's so much about getting more done or less done as much as it's about how what you did added value to your life in some way, how did it align with your values or what you wanted to achieve in life.

If you have that sorted out and prioritised, everything else should fall in place and a to-do list shouldn't be that scary after all.

There are some really great tools out there to organise to-do list that even helps shun out items that you should never do at all simply to get the high or feeling accomplished while the task itself does not add any value and is a simple time wasting activity.

To be productive, I think it's important to look at your work, prioritise and align it with your goals.
