Some good points Thom. I think though that wearing multiple hats is not a sign of toxic workplace. In the early stages of a startup, people do wear multiple hats since it’s a small team and too much needs to be done in a short span of time.

Joining a startup in its early days is a choice. People who prefer doing only a specific job and need more structured work environments can opt out of joining them.
