I also use the following models for better decision making

1. Listing down the second order consequences of my decision. Most of the time we fall for the positive first order consequence without realising impact of this decision in future. This mental model helps me in optimising for future

2. Seeking simplicity in my decision. Human brain tends to over complicate things. By ripping off un-necessary assumptions and focusing on the most important, we can make better decisions

3. Separating irreversible from reversible decisions. If a decision is irreversible, I follow a more thorough process compared to a decision which is reversible

4. I also tend to ask "why do I need to make this decision" - what's at stake if I don't make it.

5. How is this decision similar to other decisions I have made in the past. What were my learnings from those decisions and how can I apply them to my current decision
